Ron Zacapa is a Guatemalan rum aged at 2,300 metres above sea level, where the thin air slows evaporation, using a solera system borrowed from sherry production. Diageo acquired full ownership in 2011. A solera blends older and younger spirit continuously, so no single vintage is bottled on its own.
