Kettle Brand is owned by Campbell's (the United States, NASDAQ: CPB), which acquired the brand on 26 March 2018 from Snyder's-Lance.[1][1] Before Campbell's, Kettle Brand was owned by Snyder's-Lance from 2016 to 2018.[1]
Kettle Brand was founded in Oregon in 1978 and helped create the premium crisp segment in the United States, using thicker slices and batch frying. It came to Campbell's through Snyder's-Lance, which had acquired it from private equity owners.
Campbell's bought snack maker Snyder's-Lance for $50 per share in cash, roughly doubling the size of its snacks business and moving the company away from its dependence on condensed soup, a category in long-term decline.
