About Balenciaga
Balenciaga was founded by Cristóbal Balenciaga in San Sebastián in 1919 and moved to Paris in 1937, where his cutting was admired by other couturiers to a degree few designers have matched. The house closed in 1968 and was revived in 1986. Kering acquired it in 2001.
