Trademark registrant
The entity recorded as owning a trademark, which is evidence but not proof of the parent.
The registrant, or owner of record, is the entity a trademark office records as owning a mark. It is public and searchable through the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the EU Intellectual Property Office and their equivalents.
It is weaker evidence of corporate ownership than it appears. Groups routinely hold trademarks in dormant intellectual property subsidiaries whose names bear no resemblance to the parent, and registrations lag transactions by months or years. A registrant tells you which legal entity holds the mark, not which group that entity belongs to, which is why an ownership claim resting only on a registrant is recorded here as reported rather than verified.
