Procter & Gamble completed the acquisition of Gillette and 3 other brands on 1 October 2005 for $57 billion, buying from The Gillette Company.[1]
Procter & Gamble acquired The Gillette Company in an all-stock deal, adding razors, Oral-B and Braun and making it the largest consumer goods company in the world at the time. Regulators required divestitures in electric toothbrushes and deodorants.
