About Ricard
Ricard pastis was created in Marseille by Paul Ricard in 1932, four years after France legalised anise spirits again following the absinthe ban. Diluted with water it turns cloudy, and it became the defining drink of southern France. Its maker merged with rival Pernod in 1975 to form the present group.
