Rayovac is owned by Energizer Holdings (the United States, NYSE: ENR), which acquired the brand on 2 January 2019 from Spectrum Brands.[1][1] Before Energizer Holdings, Rayovac was owned by Spectrum Brands from 2005 to 2019.[1]
Rayovac was founded in Wisconsin in 1906 and is the largest hearing aid battery brand in the world alongside its general purpose cells. Energizer acquired it from Spectrum Brands in 2019 for about $2 billion.
Energizer bought the Rayovac and Varta consumer battery businesses from Spectrum Brands, consolidating three of the largest battery brands in North America and Europe under one owner. European regulators required Energizer to divest the Varta business in several markets before clearing the deal.
